Sa puissance de reconnaissance en a fait l\u2019une des images les plus durables de la com\u00e9die musicale film\u00e9e, ainsi qu\u2019une r\u00e9f\u00e9rence culturelle capable de traverser les g\u00e9n\u00e9rations.<\/p><p>J\u2019ai pu mesurer personnellement la force de cette image en pr\u00e9sentant les originaux de cette s\u00e9rie : parmi toutes les \u0153uvres, c\u2019est la seule que toutes les personnes ayant vu l\u2019ensemble ont identifi\u00e9e imm\u00e9diatement, quel que soit leur \u00e2ge.<\/p><p>Pourtant,<strong> mon int\u00e9r\u00eat pour cette sc\u00e8ne ne tient pas seulement \u00e0 sa c\u00e9l\u00e9brit\u00e9, mais \u00e0 l\u2019euphorie qu\u2019elle porte.<\/strong> Gene Kelly y incarne un bonheur d\u00e9bordant, presque enfantin, qui s\u2019exprime \u00e0 travers le corps, le mouvement et l\u2019abandon joyeux \u00e0 la pluie. <strong>C\u2019est cette libert\u00e9 \u00e9motionnelle que j\u2019ai voulu faire passer dans la peinture.<\/strong><\/p><h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #993366;\">Une r\u00e9appropriation contemporaine d\u2019un mythe cin\u00e9matographique<\/span><\/h3><p>Tout au long de l\u2019histoire de l\u2019art, les r\u00e9cits mythologiques ont offert un cadre l\u00e9gitime \u00e0 la repr\u00e9sentation du nu. Cette \u0153uvre abrite elle aussi un mythe, mais il n\u2019est plus antique : c\u2019est un mythe moderne n\u00e9 du cin\u00e9ma.<\/p><p><strong>L\u2019essentiel est ici que le mod\u00e8le ne se contente pas d\u2019incarner une r\u00e9f\u00e9rence culturelle. Elle s\u2019en empare.<\/strong><\/p><p>Le geste qui, dans le film, exprime un bonheur amoureux devient dans cette peinture une <strong>affirmation de libert\u00e9 f\u00e9minine.<\/strong> La joie demeure centrale, mais elle n\u2019est plus subordonn\u00e9e \u00e0 un r\u00e9cit romantique : elle s\u2019incarne au contraire comme souverainet\u00e9 sur son propre corps.<\/p><p>La nudit\u00e9 n\u2019agit donc ni comme ornement ni comme provocation vide. Elle devient pr\u00e9sence, affirmation et volont\u00e9 d\u2019exister sans demander permission.
