In her, Liza Minnelli embodies a figure of ambiguous magnetism, capable of<strong> turning the stage into a realm of affirmation, seduction, and survival.<\/strong><\/p><p>As in other works within this series, I sought a visual element capable of evoking the cinematic source without literally reproducing it. In this case, <strong>the hat and the chair felt like sufficient references<\/strong> to summon the universe of <em><strong>Cabaret<\/strong><\/em>. Both elements trigger the memory of the show and place the figure in an atmosphere of stage presence, artifice, and desire.<\/p><h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #993366;\">Female Sovereignty and Erotic Theatricality<\/span><\/h2><h3>Sally Bowles is not a simple character, and Cabaret is by no means an innocent film.<\/h3><p>Yet precisely for that reason, I was interested in appropriating a very specific part of its energy: <strong>the stage as a space where a woman exposes herself because she chooses to, allows herself to be watched because she decides to, and transforms that exposure into power.<\/strong><\/p><p>In this painting, I wanted to convey that sovereignty through an<strong> unapologetically nude pose and a radiant smile.<\/strong> The model does not appear as a passive object of contemplation, but as the master of her own gesture and stage performance. The viewer is permitted to contemplate her nudity only because she consents to it. This affirmation of freedom over one&#8217;s own body is a constant theme throughout my work.<\/p><p><strong>The erotic theatricality is further intensified by color.<\/strong> In the movie, the Kit Kat Club operates as a world apart\u2014a space where performance, desire, ambiguity, and excess condense.
